Both started as tools I needed on client work and grew into libraries other developers use. They are TypeScript, zero-dependency and documented for humans and for AI agents.

scrollvars

Scroll-driven animation, the cheap way.

MIT

Tiny scroll-driven animation engine: one requestAnimationFrame loop in, CSS variables out. Zero dependencies, React layer optional, and the page stays fully visible if JavaScript never loads. Every animation on this site runs on it.

04About

Andrea Scarpello, portrait
Belo Horizonte, Brazil

I am from Enna, in the middle of Sicily, and I started building for the web in 2008, knocking on the doors of restaurants and small hotels with a notebook and a PHP site to offer. Eight years in Milan agencies followed, where I discovered that an interface can look great and still feel wrong. Fixing that gap, the space between a design and how it behaves in the browser, is what I have been doing ever since.

In 2020 I moved to Brazil: five years in Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte since 2025. Today I lead front-end and full-stack work at FutureBrand, ship open source on npm, and help other developers grow. My approach is user-centered: accessibility, performance and clean code are not extras, they are the job.

Away from the keyboard I am usually chasing music, spearfishing along the Brazilian coast or simply outside. That balance is what keeps the work sharp.
